Social Media Marketing (SMM) is the process of acquiring traffic to a brand or product through social network platforms.
With the growing popularity of social networks (such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), marketers now view social networks as a new source of reaching their target audience for the purpose promotion of their brands and companies. As of today, SMM has become one of the elements of the Internet marketing toolkit.
If we compare social media marketing with traditional advertising (for example, banner advertising), there is a number of advantages to SMM:
Low cost of advertising campaign (the advertising price is at least twice as cheap as traditional advertising);
Wider and more accurate coverage of the target audience with the audience of social networks growing daily.
Ability to receive feedback from customers and react quickly to it;
Increase customer loyalty by "humanizing" the company's brand. Advertising in social networks is not so obvious, it is not considered by users to be annoying. Instead, the message is perceived as a recommendation from other users.
